On Instagram, Stars co-owners Deitrich Armstrong and AJ Johnson announced they “finally got our walking papers.” However, the duo plan on reopening the diner somewhere else sometime in the near future.

“The eventuality of Stars having to close down wasn’t new to the co-owners. The diner is along the path of the controversial I-35 Capital Express. The Texas Department of Transportation’s project is expanding the highway with four new lanes of traffic, which means displacing the current businesses along those stretches, including the diner,” the ABJ reports.

No potential addresses have been announced. However, the duo has “talked about how they want to reopen Stars in the Central Austin or downtown area in order to maintain their customer base.”
