This particular location will be managed by MAC Pizza Management, a College Station-based franchisee which runs several locations across Texas. Defining themselves on the company website, MAC states “MAC Pizza has created an extensive family of people passionate about pizza.”

“Currently, we have numerous employees with over 10 years of service and several employees with over 20 years of service, in an industry that routinely has over 100% annual employee turnover rates. Since 1981, 18 MAC Pizza Management employees have moved on to become Domino’s Pizza franchise owners.”

What Now Austin reached out to representatives of MAC Pizza Management for comment on the upcoming Hutto location, but they were not immediately available for comment. In any case, the public filings estimate a July 2023 completion, meaning the location could be open in late summer 2023.

Founded in 1960 as “DomiNick’s” in Michigan, the original store was bought by Tom and James Monaghan for $500 and renamed Domino’s Pizza. Since then, the company has become an incredibly successful American-style pizza chain with locations all across the United States and the world at large. As proof of its international success, the company’s first store to make $3 million in a year was the Tallaght, Ireland location in 2006.
