Freebirds, the popular burrito chain, will soon be opening a Kyle location, according to a recent report in Community Impact. The restaurant will be located at 19220 I-35, Ste. 100, right off the interstate, near eateries such as Schlotzky’s and Starbucks.

Known as “Texas’s No. 1 Burrito”, Freebirds specializes in custom made burritos and bowls that can be made with a range of proteins such as steak, chicken, pulled pork, and a variety of vegetables — much like competitors Chipotle and Qdoba. Perhaps what most distinguishes the brand in the crowded burrito market, is its offering of Monster and Super Monster-sized offerings (extra-large and extra-extra large, respectively).

“This new location in Kyle will make Freebirds even more available in areas where we already know we have a devoted following,” said Alex Eagle in a statement, as reported in the article cited above.

What Now Ausitn briefly reached out to Dan Hernandez, Director of Operations, for further information about the location and its exact opening dates, but his cryptic response did not illuminate our questions.

“I unfortunately can’t answer these questions,” Mr. Hernandez said. “I’m sorry.”

While now the mystery remains high, readers can be sure of one thing: until the new Freebirds opens its doors, customers may find the growing brand all over the Austin metropolitan area, with the nearest location in San Marcos.
