Jupiter’s Ice Cream, an independently-owned ice cream shop, will soon be debuting in Manor, according to recent public records. The establishment will be located at 12836 E. US 290 Hwy, within Building 2, near eateries such as Small China’s and Double Dave’s.

“There were many reasons to open,” owner Samer Abusaada tells What Now Austin. “There are no ice cream stores in the area, people love ice cream, and the location is near a school.”

When asked what the establishment will serve — apart from ice cream, of course — Mr. Abusaada gives a surprisingly thorough answer.

“We’ll serve waffles and crepes, frozen yogurt, chocolate, smoothies, fruit cups, and alcoholic beverages such as frozen daiquiris, micheladas, and mangonadas. It’s going to be good!”

Considering the popularity of suburban areas such as Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Hutto, What Now Austin was curious about Mr. Abusaada’s investment in Manor.

“It’s close to my house in Elgin and the guy I work for is opening a plaza, so I’ll be right in the center of it. Everybody loves ice cream and Texas is always hot, so it should be successful, hopefully.”

When asked about potential opening dates, Mr. Abusaada seems hopeful locals will be able to enjoy his ice cream by summertime.

“It’s a bit tricky because of permits and inspections, but I’m hoping for June — hopefully, it’ll be around then.”

That is awesome! This area needs more independent businesses. In Downtown Elgin there is already an ice cream shop that serves Amy’s and other desserts.
