Jupiter Supper Club, an upcoming restaurant, will soon be opening in downtown Austin, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The restaurant will be located at 718 Congress Avenue, near notable downtown establishments such as Higher Ground and Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille. The filing lists an estimated 6,070 square feet and an estimated $1,800,000 development and construction cost.

What Now Austin recently contacted Cassandra Krcmar, the self-described Chief of Staff to the Owner, to inquire details about the upcoming restaurant. Unfortunately, Krcmar informed the publication that they were not currently responding to media inquiries and would provide more concrete information in the coming year. When asked who was behind the project, Krcmar responded that such information could only be revealed with the owner’s own approval.

Fortunately, however, public information strongly suggests that hedge fund manager, film producer, and high-stakes poker player Bill Perkins is behind the venture. In early 2022, an account which seems to belong to Mr. Perkins tweeted “Jupiter Supper Club starts design today!!! Coming soon(ish) to 718 Congress Ave Austin Texas !!! We closed on our building!!!”

Articulating the story behind the restaurant’s name on the same thread, the account tweeted “Jupiter Mars was a slave who fought in the American Revolutionary War under General Rensselaer. He is my Great Grandfather to the 4th. The Concept is named in his honor.”

While no culinary profile for the restaurant was provided, when considering the expensive downtown location and its featuring of the words “Supper” and “Club”, it is safe to assume that it will be a fine-dining establishment, or a concept adjacent to fine-dining. It is also notable that the filing estimates that construction will not be completed until December 2023, suggesting that the establishment may not be functioning until 2024.

As soon as more information is readily available, What Now Austin will update the article accordingly.
