The high-end steakhouse Stripsteak will be making its Austin debut at 110 San Antonio St within Suite R140 on the floor level of the Northshore apartment building, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The new location will occupy prominent real estate in Downtown Austin, just a block north of the Colorado River, near ATX Cocina and The Violet Crown Theater

What Now Austin recently reached out to Owner & Chef Michael Mina to inquire about potential opening dates and other details about the upcoming location, but he was on a long flight and unable  to provide further information. 

Stripsteak specializes in char-broiled steaks such as strip steak, filet mignon, and ribeye, all sourced from the midwestern United States, along with Japanese-sourced Wagyu. All steaks made in the restaurant are finished with the restaurant’s signature red wine shallot butter.

Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1969, Michael Mina grew up in Ellensburg, Washington and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York before diving into the New York City restaurant scene. As of 2022, the celebrity chef owns several restaurants such as Bardot Brasserie, Bourbon Steak, and Tokyo Hot Chicken.

After opening in Las Vegas, Oahu and Miami, the Austin location will be Stripsteak’s 4th.
