According to a recent report in Austin Business Journal, Elevate Entertainment (formerly known as EVO Entertainment), will soon come to Hutto. The $25 million, 53,000-square-foot location will be part of the Townwest Commons shopping center.
“Our first location we ever built was in Kyle, so to pop up north to the new fastest-growing Austin suburb is really, really special for us,” said Mitch Roberts, EVO’s founder and CEO. “We like to be where there’s growth, but we really like to be where there’s families. That’s really what our offering is geared toward, and Hutto is just such a family-friendly town that it’s perfect for our brand.”
The facility will feature set “eight theaters, including the EVX enhanced viewing experience format; 10 bowling lanes; 7,200 square feet of gaming, attractions and virtual reality; and a bar/lounge area, patio and private event space. It’s scheduled to break ground this spring with a targeted opening date in spring 2024,” per the Business Journal’s reporting.
Bob Farley, Hutto’s economic development director, referred to the development as “such a logical fit,” given the city’s significant growth in population. He added that it hits a lot of different demographic target industries.
“Obviously we’re excited about it because it brings a dimension to the retail market that we probably have never had prior, which is that regional destination activity that draws people, not just in Hutto … but also up and down the (State Highway) 130 corridor,” he said. “It’s just filling another piece of the puzzle, when it comes to the retail, restaurant activities that we want a growing community to have access to. You can’t even imagine how excited we are to do this.”
No exact opening date has been announced.
