Nautical Bowls, a quickly-growing açai bowl concept in the midst of an impressive expansion campaign, will soon be coming to Austin, according to recent public records. The eatery will be located within the Mueller neighborhood, at 1900 Aldrich Street, within suite 145, near Marufuku Ramen and sweetgreen.

“We’re a one-hundred-percent açai concept,” franchise owner Todd Nickell tells What Now Austin. “All of our energy is focused on bringing the best açai bowl to the marketplace.”

When asked why he decided to franchise with Nautical Bowls, Mr. Nickell shares his analysis.

“Well, first and foremost the market just lacks healthy fast-casual options and consumers continue to demand that, so there’s a hole in the market. We became familiar with the brand here in Minnesota, where we live.”

Mr. Nickell explains that after becoming a loyal customer himself, he realized it would be a great opportunity to get involved and begin franchising the brand.

“We looked at markets across the country and noticed that it wasn’t in Austin yet. It’s a great, progressive marketplace, full of health-conscious consumers.”

Mr. Nickell is eager to emphasize the brand’s astounding growth.

“The brand started just a few years ago. Over the last nine months we’ve grown to 44 outlets and 155 territories sold. It’s the fastest growing açai concept in the US!”

In total, Mr. Nickell is bringing three locations to Austin. After the Mueller one, one in Westlake, and a third at a location that Nickell and his team are still determining.

As far as the Mueller location is concerned, readers can reasonably expect a summer opening.

“They’re just breaking ground this week. We’re expecting to open the July.”
