“Texas is on its way to a sub-sandwich revolution. Port of Subs, the iconic 50-year legacy sandwich brand, announced its latest regional development agreement today which will introduce the iconic brand to an entirely new market. Leading the charge on this culinary revolution are Chuck and Nicole Goddard, who signed on to develop 30 units in the Greater Austin area over the next few years,” the press release said.

“The Goddard’s bring a stacked background in business and management experience to the table. Chuck has over two decades of software development experience under his belt and grew up surrounded by restaurant ownership, specifically in the sandwich industry, with his family having previously owned several Subway locations. Nicole is highly skilled in team management and leadership-oriented roles, and currently serves as a board member for various organizations across Austin. The Goddard’s decision to join Port of Subs marks the second restaurant concept added to their franchising portfolio as they are currently developing several Daddy’s Chicken Shack locations as well.”

“We were immediately impressed with not only the brand’s incredibly loyal guests, but also the well-oiled machine that makes up the Port of Subs team,” said Chuck. “As we continue to diversify our restaurant portfolio, we look for concepts made up of people who are genuine and truly love what they do, and that’s what we found with Port of Subs. Their passion shines through in all aspects and made us want to become part of their growth journey.”

“With site selection underway, the Goddard’s are aiming to open their first Port of Subs location by the end of 2024. Areas like Northwest Austin are key in their real estate search, with a particular emphasis on the Cedar Park and Leander. Likewise, the Goddard’s are actively seeking qualified franchise candidates to join their expansion efforts in Austin.”

“We are thrilled to be entering a brand-new state and lay the groundwork for a remarkable year,” said Healey Mendicino, President of Port of Subs. “It’s a great feeling to know that we are continuing to garner the attention of exceptional franchisees, like Chuck and Nicole, who exemplify the very best of what our brand stands for – community-driven, innovative and a desire to grow. We’re excited to continue supporting them as they join the Port of Subs family.”
