Founded in 2005 by Patrick and Kathy Terry, P Terry’s has sought to achieve that mythic American ideal: “the classic burger stand of the ’50s and ’60s, when small-town hospitality was the standard.” The chain is known for its simple menu of hamburgers, fries, and shakes, with the option to customize burgers to one’s exact liking.

What Now Austin was able to reach the founder and owner Patrick Terry himself to inquire about the upcoming Bastrop location and its potential opening dates.

“We don’t have an opening date as we are still waiting on permits,” Mr. Terry said.

When asked if there was a month or season that the company anticipated an opening, Mr. Terry remained unsure.

“I’d be guessing if I told you I knew when we’d be ready.”

Until the moment arrives for the much-anticipated Bastrop location to open its doors, readers can try the famous local chain all over Austin and other select locations in the Central Texas area.
