The brand is defined as “An industrial winecafé offering unique and approachable wines, simply scrumptious food prepared with local ingredients, and a warm, edgy culture that brings people together” on the Upward Projects website, the restaurant management group that runs Postino.
What Now Austin reached out to CEO Lauren Bailey who states “As a growing brand, we are always on the hunt for great spaces and communities to serve. Austin, TX is one of the areas that we’ve received an outpouring of support from, and the feeling is mutual. While we have not confirmed any new locations in this market, we look forward to the potential in the near future.”
However, public records call this statement into question.
A filing with Texas’s Architectural Barriers Projects database clearly indicates that a construction project titled “Postino’s Wine Café” is slated to begin in January 2024, with an estimated cost of $1,000,000. The scope of work is described as “new interior and patio fit out in an existing shell building for a new restaurant” and lists the Upward Projects Director of Design as the project contact.
In any case, readers can expect the establishment to be up and running around mid-2024, as estimated on the filing.
