The growing smoothie and health-food fast-casual brand, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, will soon be opening a Leander location at 19388 Ronald Reagan Blvd, within suite 620. The location will be run by Mike & Kara Sheppard, who have been opening up various outposts throughout central Texas.
When asked why they decided to begin franchising with the brand, Mr. Sheppard gives a simple answer.
“We loved the healthier choice that the brand provides. We really enjoy going there ourselves and wanted to be able to provide that to the community.”
And what particular item is his personal favorite?
“Well, there’s a lot to choose from between the smoothie and food options. My favorite smoothie, though, is the blueberry bliss, made of all natural fruit, just like everything else. We also have a great one called the detox island green.”
Mr. Sheppard adds that not all the options are strictly healthy.
“We do also have more indulgent ones such as the beach bum, which is strawberry, banana, and chocolate.”
Public records for the upcoming Leander location state that the eatery will cost an estimated $250,000 to build out and take up around 1,577 ft of space. Construction is estimated to wrap up in November 2023.
Narrating their mission on their official website, the company states “We work with suppliers that make us a force for good.
