“Swig is on an aggressive expansion push in Texas,” the report states. “The company specializes in drinks made with soda, cream and added flavors such as peach, mango and guava, with more than 100 drink combinations possible. Examples include the Princess Peach with Dr. Pepper, peach and coconut cream and The Rocket with Mountain Dew, raspberry, coconut, blackberry and vanilla cream. It also sells “refreshers” — drinks made with sparkling water and flavors — and dessert items.”

The report adds that despite running several stores, the company’s Austin locations will be operated by franchisees who “must commit to multi-unit deals, and in some cases, ambitious franchisees have taken on more than 40 stores, according to Swig CEO Rian McCartan.”

“Franchising to us is kind of the best next step from a speed to market standpoint, allowing Swig to really get into the hands of more folks and more states and more communities. We’ve been very selective — we’ve had over 1,400 inbound franchise requests,” McCartan said to the Business Journal.

No opening date has been set.
