Briefly noted at the end of a recent article regarding the opening of the new tavern Murray’s, Eater notes that classic Italian establishment Nicky’s is planning to open a South Austin location.
“The Murray’s group is also involved with the Italian cafe Uncle Nicky’s, which recently closed its East Austin location but the original Hyde Park one remains open. Tober shares that they’re going to open another location somewhere in South Austin,” the report states.
In a brief call with partner Travis Tober, What Now Austin confirms that the restaurant will be located on South Lamar, “near Loro” and is set to open in the first quarter of 2024. No specific address was given.
“Nicky’s signature blend of high-quality, fast-casual Italian is the perfect backdrop for morning coffee, three martini lunches, “home office” happy hours, and even late night wining and dining,” the official website states.
Until the new Uncle Nicky’s open, readers can find the restaurant at 4222 Duval St.
