“We moved here from Rhode Island, where Del’s is a cultural institution,” Mr. D’Amico tells What Now Austin, referring to the brand’s significant regional presence. He explains that the company, founded in 1948, was a go-to place for fresh flavored drinks in the area.

“There’s nothing quite like Del’s here,” he emphasizes.

When asked for their motivation to open in Cedar Park, Mrs. D’Amico simply says that they like the area; it’s where they live.

“We wanted to open our franchise in our community,” she says, explaining how community bonds have already been established as they have already partnered with local artisans for merchandise and foresee a busy year ahead, attending events such as Leander’s Old Town Street Festival and the Burnet Air Show, among others.

“In the future, we would like to partner with local bakeries, and we’re always looking to help veterans in the community,” she says, reflecting priorities informed by Mr. D’Amico’s military service.

When asked about future expansions, the D’Amico’s re-emphasize their current priority.

“For now, we have to settle and focus in on this.”

The store is set to open on March 2nd.
