What Now Austin recently spoke to Regional Developers Nicole and Chuck Goddard to get the latest on this exciting new development in the central Texas food landscape.

“The first location will be towards the Northline,” Chuck Goddard says, referencing to Leander’s upcoming “downtown district“. “The ultimate goal is to open twenty locations over the next five years.”

“We may open one or two of those,” Nicole adds. “But we’ll look for franchisees for the ones beyond that. We’re looking for a second location in Leander-Cedar Park.”

When asked why they were so drawn to take on this role with Daddy’s, both Nicole and Chuck provide thorough, enthusiastic answers.

“There’s a lot of different values that Daddy’s has that we were drawn to,” says Chuck. “It’s very high-quality for quick service dining. Then there’s the menu — compared to other similar chains, Daddy’s provides offerings that fit different times of day. And also, Daddy’s has a really well-developed technology stack which allows us to keep close track of our service.”

“The technology that they have is the level that you’d expect for a hundred franchises,” says Nicole. “Personally, I am interested in the sustainability aspect of the brand, such as using buttermilk as opposed to milk, or their use of paper or recycled materials for packaging, for example.”

And what offering could first-time visitors order to get the best sense of the brand?

“I would probably say The Big Daddy sandwich is probably the quintessential chicken sandwich, but any of the sandwiches really speak to the quality of Daddy’s, the brined, double-battered chicken,” says Chuck.

“For me, I cannot get over the Waffle Daddy,” says Nicole, emphasizing that she does not even consider herself a big breakfast person, testament to the Waffle Daddy’s might.

And when can readers expect an opening?

“We’re looking at the end of this year or early next year,” the Goddards declare.
